I came here after visiting Cairo and Luxor, and it was exactly what I needed. The snorkeling is some of the best I’ve done, and the water is crystal clear. You can take boat trips to nearby islands, try diving or kitesurfing, or just hang out by the pool and do absolutely nothing.

October is also one of the best months to visit Egypt. It’s still hot enough for swimming, but without the oppressive summer heat. It’s quieter too, which means better deals and fewer crowds.

Sunshine, golden beaches, and a slower pace of life—Mirissa is one of my top picks for warm destinations in October. It’s a laid-back beach town on Sri Lanka’s south coast—perfect for solo travelers, surfers, or anyone who just wants to slow down and enjoy the sunshine.

I spent three days here during my Sri Lanka tuk-tuk road trip, but honestly, most people end up staying longer. With golden beaches, cozy villas, and a surprisingly good international food scene, it’s easy to settle into the rhythm here.

October is near the end of hurricane season, so yes, there’s a small chance of rain—but that also means fewer crowds and better prices. I visited in early October and had mostly sunny skies, with just one quick afternoon storm.

It’s one of my favorite cities for solo travel—easy to get around, full of character, and packed with great food. I loved wandering through Alfama, riding the tram just for fun, and stopping for pastéis de nata at every bakery I passed.

If you have extra time, head south to the Algarve. The beaches are still beautiful in October, and towns like Lagos or Albufeira are peaceful and warm, without the peak season prices.

Famous for its lantern-lit Old Town and tailor shops, it’s also a great spot for biking through rice fields, taking a Vietnamese cooking class, visiting local markets, or relaxing at An Bang Beach.

When I visited in October, mornings were sunny with just a few short afternoon showers. It was humid, but nothing that got in the way of exploring or enjoying the town.

🌴 Where I’d stay: The Ritz-Carlton, Abama – A luxury escape with epic ocean views, multiple pools, and direct beach access. It’s a splurge, but totally worth it for the comfort, space, and Michelin-star dining.

10. Dubai, UAE – Avg Temp: 35°C (95°F)

Dubai is one of the hottest warm destinations in October, both literally and in terms of what it offers. Expect daily highs in the mid-30s°C (mid-90s°F), but it’s finally starting to cool off just enough to enjoy being outdoors—especially in the mornings and evenings.

It’s a city of contrasts: ultramodern skyscrapers, traditional souks, rooftop pools, luxury hotels, and golden deserts. You can go up the Burj Khalifa, shop at massive malls, take a boat ride in Dubai Marina, or ride a camel through the dunes.

When I visited, I only had a weekend but still fit a lot in. One of my favorite experiences was this full-day Abu Dhabi tour—super convenient and a great way to visit the Grand Mosque without the stress of planning everything yourself.
