The best part? It’s super affordable. You can grab a delicious plate of pad thai from a street vendor for as little as $3 USD, and even when I splurged on a beachfront dinner, it rarely cost more than $5 USD.

Is Thailand a good holiday destination for food lovers? Absolutely! If you love fresh, flavorful, and budget-friendly food, Thailand will be a dream come true for your taste buds.

Wondering, “Is Thailand worth it?” The answer is a resounding yes, especially if you’re traveling on a budget. Thailand is one of the most affordable countries to explore. You can easily get by on as little as $30 a day, covering accommodation, food, and even transportation.

I’ve stayed in cozy hostel dorms for as little as $5 a night and enjoyed luxury stays in resorts for under $100 a night. Whether you’re backpacking Southeast Asia or splurging on a special occasion like a honeymoon, Thailand offers incredible value for your money.

If you’re a fan of culture and history, the temples alone make Thailand worth visiting. They’re absolutely stunning and perfect for taking beautiful photos while traveling alone.

Some people talk about getting “temple out” but I never did! Every temple has its own unique charm, and they’re such peaceful places to explore.

But even beyond that, places like Bangkok, Phi Phi Island, and Phuket offer a vibrant nightlife scene. Whether you’re sipping cocktails at a rooftop bar in Bangkok or dancing barefoot on a beach, Thailand’s nightlife is unforgettable.

Thailand is super popular, and with that comes lots of tourists! In places like Phuket and Bangkok, the crowds can feel overwhelming, especially during the high season.

When visiting Thailand, you might find yourself waiting in long lines, jostling for space at attractions, and trying to find a spot on crowded beaches.

But don’t worry! There are plenty of quieter, off-the-beaten-path destinations like Koh Lanta or Pai that offer a more peaceful vibe. Exploring these Thailand hidden gems can give you a more laid-back experience without the tourist hustle and bustle.

2. Rising Prices

As Thailand has become a major tourist destination, prices have gone up, particularly after 2020. While it’s still much more affordable than many other countries, you might notice that accommodations, tours, and even food can be more expensive than you’d expect in tourist-heavy spots like the southern islands or Bangkok.

That being said, you can still travel Thailand on a budget! Try exploring less touristy spots or consider traveling with a partner to share expenses. Thailand offers amazing value—just steer clear of the touristy traps.
