Gardens by the Bay Light Show Themes

One of the best things about the Gardens by the Bay Light Show is that the themes change throughout the year. This means you can visit Singapore multiple times and have a different experience each time!

They even have a Star Wars theme in May and a National Day special in August. Check out the official calendar for the latest themes.

One theme I’m super excited about (but haven’t experienced yet) is “Musical Night.” As a big musical fan, the idea of the Supertrees lighting up and dancing to Broadway hits sounds amazing. It’s definitely on my Singapore bucket list!

Where is the Light Show at Gardens by the Bay?

The light show happens at the Supertree Grove, right in the middle of Gardens by the Bay. You can’t miss it—just look for those massive, tree-like structures.

What Time Does Gardens by the Bay Light Up?

The Garden Rhapsody runs twice every evening.

The first show usually starts at 7:45 PM, and the second at 8:45 PM.

I suggest getting there at least 15 minutes early to grab a good spot. Trust me, you don’t want to miss the start. Set a reminder on your phone so you don’t forget!

When is the Gardens by the Bay Light Show Canceled?

The show might be canceled if the weather’s bad, like heavy rain or a lightning warning. Also, if the Supertree Grove is closed for maintenance, there won’t be a show.

It’s a good idea to check the weather forecast and the official Gardens by the Bay website on the day you plan to visit.

How Long Does the Gardens by the Bay Light Show Last?

The Gardens by the Bay light show lasts about 15 minutes. I know it doesn’t sound like much, but those 15 minutes are packed with stunning visuals and music.

It’s totally worth it, even if you have to travel across Singapore to get there. Those minutes will fly by, and you’ll be left wanting more.

How Much Does the Gardens by the Bay Light Show Cost?

Here’s the best part—the Garden Rhapsody is free! You can enjoy this magical experience without spending a cent.

It’s one of the best  free things to do at Gardens by the Bay, perfect if you’re traveling to Singapore on a budget.

Looking for the best spots to catch the Gardens by the Bay Light Show? During my last trip to Singapore, I found the perfect places for an amazing view.

Pro Tip: If you can, stay for both shows or visit on multiple nights to try out several spots to see it from different perspectives.

Option 1: Supertree Grove

One of my favorite spots to watch the light show is right at the Supertree Grove. Bring a blanket or mat and find a comfy spot in front of the main Supertree, the one with the Supertree Observatory.

This way, you can kick back and enjoy the show without straining your neck.

Plus, if you’re on a budget, you can grab a cheap bite to eat nearby while you wait for the show to start. Just make sure to get there early since it gets pretty crowded!

Option 2: The OCBC Skyway

For those looking for a bird’s-eye view, the OCBC Skyway is fantastic. This 22-meter-high walkway connects three of the Supertrees and offers incredible panoramic views of the light show and other iconic Singapore landmarks.

There’s an entrance fee of $14 SGD, and the last admission is at 8:30 PM, so you’ll only be able to watch the first show.

Keep in mind that there’s often a long queue, and you’re limited to a 15-minute stay. But if you time it right, it might offer the best view of the Gardens by the Bay Light Show!

Option 3: The Balcony

If you’re looking for a free elevated view, check out what Globetrotting Su calls “The Balcony.” This walkway gives you a similar elevated experience to the OCBC Skyway but without the cost.

It’s less crowded than the Supertree Grove and offers fantastic views, making it one of the best spots to watch the Gardens by the Bay Light Show.

Option 4: Jurassic Nest FoodHall

For a more relaxed experience, the garden area of the Jurassic Nest FoodHall is a great choice. The grassy lawn provides a comfortable spot to sit or lie down while you enjoy the light show.

It’s perfect if you’re traveling to Singapore with kids, as it’s not very crowded and they have space to run around freely.

These are my top four picks for the best views of the Gardens by the Bay Light Show. But honestly, there are plenty of other spots to explore. The show can be seen from quite a distance, so don’t hesitate to find a quieter spot away from the crowds!

Best Time to Go To Gardens by the Bay

From my experience, the best times to visit Gardens by the Bay are either early in the morning, around 8:00 AM or earlier, or just before sunset.

I’d actually recommend making two trips. Start your day by exploring the park in the morning when it’s less crowded. This way, you can enjoy top spots like the Flower Dome and Cloud Forest without dealing with big crowds.

Then, come back in the evening for the Gardens by the Bay Light Show. The cooler temperatures and beautiful evening light make it a perfect time to relax and soak in the stunning views.

Trust me, visiting during these cooler times of the day will make your experience at Gardens by the Bay much more enjoyable. Plus, you’ll get to see the park in two different lights, which is totally worth it!
