Who Am I?
I’m Vega, the girl behind Her Asian Adventures. I’m so glad you’re here! I’m a solo female traveler who thrives on planning trips, discovering new places, and indulging my not-so-subtle obsession with Asia.
Originally from Spain, I spent years in the fast-paced world of law. But after too many late nights, endless stress, and way too much coffee, I knew something had to change. So, I ditched the briefcase, grabbed a backpack, and set off to explore the world.
My first big solo adventure took me to Asia — a place I knew almost nothing about. But the moment I arrived, I was hooked. Now, 10+ years and 15 countries later, Asia feels like home.
I’m here to help you explore this incredible part of the world, whether you’re a solo female traveler, on a budget, or just craving a new adventure. Let’s make those travel dreams happen!
Why Asia?
My obsession with Asia started in high school when I made friends with a girl from Korea. Her stories about the different cultures, delicious foods, and fascinating traditions had me dreaming of visiting one day.
Fast forward a few years, and I found myself studying in China for six months, where I truly fell in love with the continent. After that, I couldn’t stay away—I started going back whenever I could, each time discovering new places I hadn’t even heard of before.
So, what keeps me coming back? The warmth of the people, the incredible street food, the blend of ancient traditions and modern life, and the fact that you can experience it all on a budget.
Honestly, I’m sure you’ll find your own reasons to fall in love with Asia, too!
Why Her Asian Adventures?
I started Her Asian Adventures after a backpacking trip through Southeast Asia. What began as sharing stories with friends became a way to help women like you — those craving adventure but hesitant about solo travel.
My goal? To show you that solo travel in Asia is safe, affordable, and incredibly rewarding.
Here, you’ll find:
- Travel Stories: Real experiences that bring Asia to life.
- Practical Tips: Budgeting, packing, and safety hacks.
- Destination Guides: Explore Asia without breaking the bank.
Whether you’re planning, dreaming, or ready to go, I’m here with advice to make your adventures unforgettable!
My Travel Style
I’m all about squeezing the most out of every adventure without draining my wallet. You’ll usually find me in a budget hostel (seriously, privacy curtains are a lifesaver!), catching public buses, and hunting down the best street food — because who needs fancy restaurants when banh mi costs a dollar?
But some experiences are worth the splurge. Floating in a hot air balloon over Laos, staying in an overwater bungalow in the Maldives, or cruising through the dreamy limestone karsts of Halong Bay — those are the moments I’ll gladly spend extra on.
I’m a proud planning nerd, with detailed itineraries and backup plans (Plan B, C, maybe even D!). Having options means I can follow my gut and enjoy the moment — whether that’s chasing waterfalls or just chilling with a coconut.
