Who Am I?
Hey there! I’m Vega, the voice behind Her Asian Adventures. I’m so glad you’ve found your way here! I’m a solo female traveler with a serious case of wanderlust and a not-so-healthy obsession with Asia.
Originally from Spain, I spent years working as a lawyer at a top firm. But after countless late nights and endless stress, I realized something was missing. That’s when I decided to swap my briefcase for a backpack and set off to explore the world.
My first big trip took me to Asia, and I was hooked from the moment I landed. Now, after more than 10 years and 15+ countries, Asia feels like my second home.
Why Asia?
My obsession with Asia started in high school when I made friends with a girl from Korea. Her stories about the different cultures, delicious foods, and fascinating traditions had me dreaming of visiting one day.
Fast forward a few years, and I found myself studying in China for six months, where I truly fell in love with the continent. After that, I couldn’t stay away—I started going back whenever I could, each time discovering new places I hadn’t even heard of before.
What keeps me coming back? It’s the welcoming people, the mouthwatering street food, the mix of ancient traditions and modern life, and the fact that you can experience all this without breaking the bank. Asia is a place where adventure is always around the corner, and I’m here to help you discover it.
Why This Blog?
I started Her Asian Adventures after my last slo backpacking trip through Southeast Asia. I wanted to share my stories and tips with friends and family, but soon realized there were so many others out there like me—women who love to travel, who crave adventure, but might be a bit unsure about taking that first step alone.
This blog is my way of reaching out to you, to show you that solo travel, especially in Asia, can be safe, affordable, and unbelievably rewarding. My goal is to give you the confidence and the tools you need to plan your own unforgettable adventures.

My Travel Style
I’m all about making the most of every adventure without breaking the bank. You’ll usually find me in a budget hostel (privacy curtains are a lifesaver!), hopping on public transport, and searching for the best street food in town.
But I also believe in splurging when it counts. Whether it’s floating in a hot air balloon over the stunning landscapes of Laos, staying in an overwater bungalow in the Maldives, or cruising through the breathtaking limestone karsts of Halong Bay in Vietnam, I never shy away from investing in those unforgettable, once-in-a-lifetime experiences.
I’m a bit of a planning nerd—I love crafting detailed itineraries, complete with Plan B (and sometimes Plan C!) just in case. My trips are usually packed with exciting activities and must-see spots, but I never stress about doing it all. Having options means I can go with the flow and choose what feels right in the moment.
